The Ohio Children’s Trust Fund has a very simple goal “to prevent child abuse and neglect through investing in strong communities, healthy families and safe children.”
To ensure that, OCTF focuses on parents, caregivers, and professionals who serve families. When the people who surround children have the support and resources they need, then children get the nurturing environments they deserve.
What OCTF values above all else are strong Ohio families — of all types.
OCTF is Ohio’s sole, dedicated public funding source for child abuse and neglect prevention, responsible for:
- Providing grants to other agencies and nonprofits that provide programs in their communities. We focus on programs based on evidence to show their effectiveness.
- Providing resources and education to parents and caregivers to help them manage stress, find support and services, and build stronger foundations for their families.
- Providing training and education to professionals who provide services to families.
- Annual awareness campaigns each April to educate the public about child abuse and neglect prevention.
Additionally, OCTF is affiliated with other national organizations, such as Prevent Child Abuse America and the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds to further their prevention mission in Ohio.
All of these activities add up to support OCTF's goal of providing children in Ohio with the best chance at safe and healthy childhoods.
