Public safety is the first and most important responsibility of government. All the good things that make a society healthy and prosperous rest on the foundation of public safety. And public safety depends on law enforcement. It depends on you.
That’s why I hope you will attend the 2019 Ohio Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Conference, scheduled for Oct. 8-9 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus.
Registration is officially underway, with the deadline on Sept. 29.
The 2019 conference theme, “Protecting the Unprotected,” reflects our combined efforts to keep Ohioans and our communities safe. For information about featured speakers for the annual event, visit the Conference webpage.
Conference workshops will run the gamut, including Identifying and Protecting the Drug Endangered Child; The Rising Trend of Stimulant Misuse; Arrest, Search and Seizure; “Under the Armor” Law Enforcement, Secondary Trauma, and Building Resiliency; and Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program. Also on tap are sessions related to technology, the law and investigations. In addition, during a conference awards ceremony, we will honor officers who have served above and beyond the call of duty.
All attendees are invited to a Fraternal Order of Police reception, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Gordon Biersch in the Arena District.
If you have any questions, please e-mail LEC@OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov.
Challenges to public safety are constantly evolving and the 2019 Law Enforcement Conference is designed to help us adapt to meet those challenges.
We look forward to seeing you there!
