A division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or BMV is the place to find everything you need to know about Ohio's driver licenses and ID cards — first issuance, renewal, restrictions and information for non U.S. citizens and commercial drivers.
The BMV offers many of its services online. Whether you're schedule a test to get your first driver's license, or renewing for the tenth time, you'll find what you need at BMV.Ohio.gov.
Find information about vehicle titling and registration, replacing or exchanging your license plates, and a downloadable digest of all Ohio's motor vehicle laws and traffic rules.
Commercial license holders can also complete many tasks online.
Or visit BMV.Ohio.gov to find a BMV location near you.
